Telring-CH-40/80 is a combination of two anti-diabetic drugs namely Telmisartan & Chlorthalidone.

Telmisartan: Belongs to a class of drug known as ARB’s (Angiotensin receptor blockers). It works by blocking the angiotensin receptors in heart & blood vessel, this result into vasodilatation & decrease in heart rate. This brings about the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

Chlorthalidone: Belongs to a class of drug known as Thiazide diuretics. This medicine is used to treat hypertension. Hydrochlorothiazide works by preventing the reabsorption of sodium, chloride and fluid in DCT (Distal convoluted tube) in kidney (nephron) and removing the extra water & certain electrolytes from the body & thus reduces the excess fluid levels in the body and treats edema associated with heart or kidney disease. It also reduces vasoconstriction & improves blood flow.
