Mode of Action
ADDIRA-4/8 capsule is an alpha-adrenergic blockers used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) in men. α1-adrenoceptors are G protein-coupled receptors: upon binding with natural ligand; nor-epinephrine & epinephrine, increases intracellular calcium levels and causes smooth muscles contraction in prostate, urethra & bladder. ADDIRA-4/8 works blocking the α1A-adrenoceptor signaling pathway promotes prostatic and urethral smooth muscle relaxation & improved maximum urinary flow rate.
Benefits
ADDIRA-4/8 shows rapid onset of action in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms associated with BPH. It improves maximum urinary flow rate or causes significant reduction in nocturia.
