• Empagliflozin

  Empagliflozin belongs to a class of medicines called SGLT2 (sodium glucose transporter 2) inhibitor. SGLT2 channel mainly present in kidney (nephron) responsible for the 90% glucose reabsorption in the body. Empagliflozin blocks SGLT2 channel & decreases the reabsorption of glucose, increases glucose excretion through urine

• Linagliptin

  Linagliptin is a DPP4 Inhibitor which reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver, by raising insulin levels and decreasing the levels of the glucagon (the hormone that increases blood glucose level).

Empagliflozin is well-tolerated and safe as noted in older patients, patients with poorly controlled diabetes, those with heart failure or CV risk factors. Empagliflozin also improves glycemic control in patients with poorly controlled T2DM.
