Mode of Action
ADDURSO-150/300 tablets are used in the treatment of cholestatic liver diseases. It is also used to treat jaundice, cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis & alcoholic liver damage. It works by several mechanisms; Protection of injured cholangiocytes (epithelial cells of the bile duct) against toxic effects of bile acids; Stimulation of impaired biliary secretion; Inhibition of apoptosis of hepatocytes; Decrease absorption & biliary secretion of cholesterol, regulation of glucose metabolism.
