Composition

  • Metformin HCl 1gm (SR) + Glimepiride 1/2/3/4mg TAB

Mode of Action

DARTMET-G1/G2/G3/G4 Forte Tablets are a combination of two anti- diabetic drugs. They work by different mechanisms & control high blood sugar levels when single therapy is not much more effective.

Metformin: Belongs to a class of drug called as Biguanides. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by decreasing the glucose production by inhibiting gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis in liver. Metformin acts as an insulin sensitizer, enhances insulin sensitivity by increasing the hepatic & peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Glimepiride: Belongs to a class of drug called as Sulphonylurea. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It acts as insulin secretion enhancer. It works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lowers the blood glucose level.
