Composition
- Torsemide 10/20/40/100mg TAB
- Torsemide 10/20mg + Spironolactone 50mg TAB
Mode of Action
TORSTAR-PLUS 10/20 is a combination of two anti-hypertensive drugs namely Torsemide or Spironolactone.
Torsemide: Belongs to a class of drug known as Loop diuretics. It is used to treat hypertension or edema. It lowers the blood pressure by removing the extra water, salt and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the urine production.
Spironolactone: Belongs to a class of drug known as Potassium-Sparing diuretics. It is used in the treatment of Hypertension, Edema & low potassium. It mainly acts on DCT (Distal convolute tube) where it prevents the loss of potassium & increases the removal of extra salt, water or fluid from the body.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with TORSTAR 10/20/40/100 & TORSTAR-PLUS 10/20 tablets; it may cause serious damage to your kidneys, lungs, heart, and blood vessels.

Medicine
Do not take other medicines unless they have been discussed with your doctor.
Liver & Kidney
Should be used with caution in patients with liver & kidney disease.
