Composition
- Luliconazole cream 30gm (1% w/w)
Mode of Action
Zolmitop is a versatile & potent topical antifungal cream. It is used in the treatment of Tinea pedis (athlete foot), Tinea corporis (ringworm) & Tinea cruris (jock itch). Zolmitop shows both fungicidal and fungi-static action. It inhibits the formation of ergosterol (regulate membrane permeability, biogenesis & functions of the fungal cell) from lanosterol in fungus by inhibiting the enzyme 14-alpha demethylase. Now decreased amount of ergosterol causes fungal cell to leak or burst which leads to cell death (fungicidal effect) or Inhibits biogenesis i.e. stops reproduction of fungal cell (fungi-static effect).
