Mode of Action

• RAMIPRIL
  Belongs to a class of drugs known as ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme inhibitors). It works by interfering with the body's Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS), which is responsible for regulating blood pressure. Ramipril inhibits the conversion of Angiotensin I to Angiotensin II by inhibiting or limiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme, which causes blood vessels to relax and widen. This results in a lowering of blood pressure and improves blood flow to the heart muscle.
• HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE
  Belongs to a class of drug known as Thiazide diuretics. This medicine is used to treat hypertension. Hydrochlorothiazide works by preventing the reabsorption of sodium, chloride and fluid in DCT (Distal convoluted tube) in kidney (nephron) and removing the extra water & certain electrolytes from the body & thus reduces the excess fluid levels in the body and treats edema associated with heart or kidney disease. It also reduces vasoconstriction & improves blood flow.
