Mode of Action

• TELMISARTAN
  Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin-II that usually makes blood vessels tighter. This lowers the blood pressure, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly to different organs and the heart to pump more efficiently.
• AMLODIPINE
  Belongs to a class of drug called as Calcium channel blockers. It is used to treat high blood pressure or to prevent angina. It decreases the blood pressure and reduces the workload of the heart by blocking the calcium channels present in heart or blood vessel which results into reduced cardiac contraction & reduced vasoconstriction, which helps in preventing heart attacks and strokes.
• HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE
  Belongs to a class of drug known as Thiazide diuretics. This medicine is used to treat hypertension. Hydrochlorothiazide works by preventing the reabsorption of sodium, chloride and fluid in DCT (Distal convoluted tube) in kidney (nephron) and removing the extra water & certain electrolytes from the body & thus reduces the excess fluid levels in the body and treats edema associated with heart or kidney disease. It also reduces vasoconstriction & improves blood flow.
• METOPROLOL
  Belongs to a class of drug known as Beta blockers. It is used to treat high blood pressure. Metoprolol works by inhibiting the binding of adrenaline to the beta receptors of heart & kidney thereby reduces the heart rate or renin release and thus lowers the blood pressure.
• CHLORTHALIDONE
  Belongs to a class of drug known as Thiazide diuretics. Chlorthalidone reduces the excess fluid levels in the body and treats edema associated with heart or kidney disease. It also reduces vasoconstriction & improves blood flow.
